October 2nd marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi — a global symbol of non-violence, simplicity, and justice.

Gandhi believed deeply in the power of craft and manual labor — especially the spinning wheel (charkha) — as tools of dignity, self-reliance, and economic freedom. His legacy continues to inspire fair trade principles: honoring artisans, respecting labor, and building a world rooted in equity and peace.
