Origin: Handmade in India

How It's Made

This bag is created by a women-led cooperative in a drought-prone region of Western India, where textile craft provides vital livelihood opportunities. As member-owners of the enterprise, artisans gain financial independence, skill development, and long-term economic stability.

Artisans begin by sourcing traditional pagri cotton fabric and cotton–silk textiles dyed with azo-free, low-impact dyes. The cotton–silk side is embellished using tanka embroidery, a traditional straight-stitch technique that allows artisans to vary stitch length and spacing, creating texture and visual rhythm.

Each bag is carefully sewn to be fully reversible and finished with braided cotton handles—resulting in a colorful, functional piece that reflects generations of textile knowledge and skilled handwork.

Natural Variations

Due to the handmade nature of our products and variations in device screens, you may find slight variations in color and/or craftsmanship. Even if from the same dye lot, slight variations in color may occur. This is not a defect, but a unique feature of handmade goods.
