Designed in the United States by Sustainable Threads and created by physically challenged artisans and their families in Northern India, each towel supports fair wages, life-skills training, and dignified employment through traditional craft.

Each Field Stripe Kitchen Towel is created using one of the oldest forms of textile production—hand weaving on traditional manual looms. This slow, deliberate process allows for precise, small-batch craftsmanship that machines simply can’t replicate.

These towels are woven by physically challenged artisans and their families in Northern India, many of whom learned this craft as adults after facing limited access to mainstream employment. Weaving became a pathway to dignified, stable livelihoods when other job opportunities were not readily available.

Artisans keep the warp in its natural, unbleached Kora cotton color and introduce subtle, earthy tones through low-impact–dyed weft yarns. Every towel is woven thread by thread, reflecting the care, focus, and skill of makers who rely on this work to support their families with pride and independence.
