Artisans begin with natural Kora cotton, valued for its untouched, unbleached purity. They apply dye to hand-carved wooden blocks and press each block firmly onto the fabric, one impression at a time. Dye is refreshed frequently to maintain consistent color, and each block is cleaned between applications.

The cloth is left to dry fully after each layer, allowing the next block and color to be applied with clarity. A single towel may require dozens or even hundreds of impressions, resulting in a richly detailed pattern with distinct handmade character.
