The Timeless tablecloths are crafted from organic cotton yarns and dyed using the Ikat technique, an ancient resist-dye method in which sections of yarn are carefully bound before dyeing. This process creates soft, organic patterning and nuanced contrasts of light and dark that emerge once the yarns are woven.

Handwoven on manual looms, the finished fabric has a supple handfeel with the durability needed for everyday use. The understated design and natural palette make these tablecloths easy to layer with a wide range of dinnerware styles, from casual family meals to festive entertaining.

Each piece is made by physically challenged artisans and their families in Northern India, where textile work offers meaningful, home-based employment and long-term skill development within a Fair Trade framework.

Production begins with organic cotton yarns that are hand-dyed using the Ikat resist-dye technique. Yarns are tied to prevent dye penetration in specific areas, allowing lighter and darker tones to develop within a single dye bath. Once dyed, the yarns are carefully dried, wound, warped, and woven on hand-operated looms.

These tablecloths are produced through a Fair Trade–aligned initiative focused on inclusive employment and skill training. Artisans involved in this work include physically challenged makers and their families, many of whom are trained upon joining the program. The initiative provides steady income, skill development, and community support, helping foster economic stability, confidence, and social inclusion through craft.
