Origin: Handmade in India

How It's Made

This bag is created by a women-led cooperative in a drought-prone region of Western India, where access to stable livelihoods is limited. As member-owners of the enterprise, artisans gain financial independence, skill development, and long-term economic opportunity.

Artisans work with cotton fabrics dyed or block printed using azo-free dyes, then carefully hand-appliqué seed-shaped motifs onto the base fabric. These motifs are secured and accented using tanka embroidery, a traditional straight-stitch technique that allows for variation in stitch length and pattern, adding durability and visual rhythm.

Finished with a coconut shell button closure and reinforced handles, each bag reflects generations of textile knowledge and collaborative craftsmanship.

Natural Variations

Due to the handmade nature of our products and variations in device screens, you may find slight variations in color and/or craftsmanship. Even if from the same dye lot, slight variations in color may occur. This is not a defect, but a unique feature of handmade goods.
