How It's Made
First, yarn is hand spun. A blend of hand spun and conventional yarn are used in the creation of this fabric. This textile is produced on hand-operated looms, one of the oldest methods of textile production. The weaving involves interlinking a set of vertical threads (warp) with a set of horizontal threads (weft,) meticulously planning and complex estimation, depending on the design.
Artisans hand spin yarn, dye with low impact Azo-free dyes, and hand weave the products on wooden pit looms. Each of these steps support local artisan livelihood.
