This nesting gift box set includes three graduated sizes designed to nest neatly for storage or be used individually for gifting and display:

Crafted from tree-free recycled cotton paper, the boxes are sturdy yet lightweight, with a smooth, natural finish. Hand screen–printed motifs add visual interest and artisanal character, making the boxes as meaningful as the gifts they hold. Produced by rural and low-income artisans in Northern India, each set reflects Fair Trade values and thoughtful craftsmanship.

The paper used for these boxes is crafted from 100% cotton hosiery waste — discarded fabric scraps from cotton garment manufacturing that are reclaimed and transformed into durable, tree-free paper. Artisans blend the cotton scraps with water to create pulp, which is then hand-formed into sheets using wire mesh screens. The sheets are pressed, dried, and finished without the use of chlorine bleach.

Once the paper is ready, artisans hand screen–print decorative motifs using azo-free dyes. A separate group of skilled makers then cut, fold, and assemble the paper into nesting boxes.

Produced by rural and low-income artisan communities in Northern India, this work operates within a Fair Trade framework that provides steady wages, safe working conditions, and long-term livelihood opportunities. By transforming textile waste into functional packaging, artisans create products that support both environmental responsibility and inclusive economic development.
