Origin: Handmade in India

How It's Made

This scarf is woven by indigenous women artisans in Eastern India using a blend of Eri and Tussar silks. Eri silk—often referred to as peace or compassionate silk—is produced only after the silkworm completes its lifecycle, ensuring no harm to the insect. Tussar silk is gathered from wild silkworms found in forested regions, lending the fiber its characteristic texture and natural variation.

The silk yarns are handwoven on traditional zidagar frame looms, crafted from bamboo and other locally available materials. These looms operate without electricity and require skill, patience, and experience to achieve a balanced, even weave. The finished fabric is dyed using low-impact, azo-free dyes, resulting in soft, nuanced color.

Natural Variations

Due to the handmade nature of our products and variations in device screens, you may find slight variations in color and/or craftsmanship. Even if from the same dye lot, slight variations in color may occur. This is not a defect, but a unique feature of handmade goods.
