Each card is made from tree-free recycled cotton paper, created from upcycled cotton scrap fabric and left unbleached to preserve its natural tone and texture. The paper has a smooth yet organic feel that writes beautifully with pens, pencils, and markers.

The card fronts are hand screen–printed with artisan-crafted motifs, while the interiors are left blank for personal messages. Coordinating envelopes complete the set, which is thoughtfully boxed for presentation.

Produced by rural and low-income artisans in Northern India, these notecards support Fair Trade practices and dignified, skill-based employment. By transforming textile waste into functional paper goods, artisans create stationery that reflects both environmental responsibility and the enduring value of handmade craft.

These notecards are made from recycled cotton hosiery waste — discarded fabric scraps from cotton garment production — which are reclaimed and transformed into durable, tree-free paper. Artisans blend the cotton scraps with water until they form a fine pulp, adding azo-free dyes to create soft, natural tones.

Using wire mesh screens, artisans hand-form individual sheets by pulling the screens through vats of pulp. Once dried and pressed flat, select sheets are hand screen–printed with decorative motifs, while others are left plain to highlight the natural character of the paper.

The finished paper is then cut, printed, and assembled into boxed notecard sets by skilled artisans. This work supports rural and low-income artisan communities in Northern India, operating within a Fair Trade framework that prioritizes safe working conditions, fair wages, and long-term livelihood opportunities.

By transforming textile waste into thoughtfully designed stationery, these notecards create meaningful economic opportunity while reducing environmental impact.
